CYCLING AND BIKING
Ariège by bike…
All who love cycling and the Ariège, the Sunday Pyrenean riders, cycling tourists of all ages, today’s off-road cyclists, die-hard racers, or simply those who enjoy the delights of cycling, will be able to find the ride to fit their aptitudes.
The complete tour of Ariège is for trained cycling enthusiasts. Reflecting the mountainous image of the department, it scales some amazing heights. Col de Pailhères, col de la Core, col d’Agnes, port de Lers,… it’s not by chance that the Tour de France often has a section in Ariège, arriving at the Plateau de Beille, in Ax-3 domaines and its cols pyrénéens.
To seek out some of the bizarre places and breathtaking descents, nothing beats the VTT. 450 km of marked tracks, forest path circuits are provided, with whole areas reserved for cross-country cyclists. Ariège maintains 4 VTT circuits recognised by the French Cycling Federation. These uphold the exacting standards of security and service.
